feeling a little bit like a kid in a candy store, i attended Fibrations– a fibre arts festival
there were vendors from all over Vancouver Island, and a few from the mainland of BC too
it was AWESOME!!
here are my new fleecy treasures (the two in the left bottom corner are a friend’s fleeces that I will spin for her)
Top Left = Alpaca – brown and black blended pin-roving (6 oz)
Top Middle = Romney/Mohair/Alpaca blend (5 oz) (blue/black)
Top Right = Romney (4.6oz) orange colours
Top Right = pin-drafted alpaca (4 oz) pinky
Bottom Left= Merino/silk (4oz approx) navy/white/red
Bottom Left = Merino/silk 50/50 (4.3oz) greeny blue
Bottom Middle = Romney (4.2oz) purple/black
Bottom Right = Merino/Silk (4 oz approx) green/white
i purchased a sheep fleece yesterday
it needs to be cleaned before i can spin it
the adventure began this afternoon

Spinning on a wheel today for the first time!
today is the start of the Tour de France
I am participating in the Tour de Fleece
I’ll be spinning yarn while the cyclists spin their wheels through the French countryside
I track my progress on Ravelry.com (awesome fibre site)
although I’ll be spinning daily for the course of the tour, my photography will not reflect this
i’m sure you don’t want to see 3 weeks of spindles, fleece and yarn… (well, probably not most of you anyway)
